Sustainability
Sustainability is a core value at Coburg North Primary. We are committed to fostering learning about sustainability. CNPS is an accredited ResourceSmart School - a Victorian Government initiative that helps schools embed sustainability in everything they do.
CNPS was the recipient of the 2020 ResourceSmart Student Action Team of the Year award, recognising the student sustainability leadership at our school.
Our student Green Team, Team Verde, is led by the Grade 6 Environment and Italian Captains. Team Verde meets weekly with teacher facilitators to discuss student projects and initiatives for sustainability in the school.

Our large playground and outdoor spaces feature landscaped areas with indigenous plants that create wildlife corridors, shade, biodiversity, and nature-based play spaces. We also have small orchards and food growing areas within the school where seasonal produce can be planted and harvested.
Our gardens and compost systems are maintained by dedicated and hardworking volunteers. If you are able to help out before or after pick-up or drop-off, please contact your classroom teacher to organise your gardening induction.
