Enrolment Ceiling

Coburg North Primary School has an enrolment ceiling. The existence of an enrolment ceiling enables our school to maximise the available learning and play space for students, and enables all students to enroll for whom the school is nearest to their permanent residential address.

Where there are insufficient places for all students who seek entry, the following priority is used for determining which students can be enrolled:

• Students with siblings who will be concurrently attending Coburg North Primary School.
• Students who reside outside the school’s enrolment boundary map, and in order of the closeness of their residential address to the school.
• Students may be enrolled on compassionate grounds.

The Principal has the right to exercise discretionary judgment on matters pertaining to enrolments that are considered ‘special circumstances’.

​Please note we cannot guarantee enrolment if your permanent residential address is outside of our Designated Neighbourhood Area

2025 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education (DET) has released a new statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Coburg North Primary School.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Coburg North Primary School from the start of Term 2, 2024 (Monday 15 April 2024).

What you need to do:

1. Contact our school on (03) 9354 1660 to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available from Monday 15 April 2024).
3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26 July 2024.
4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 29 July and Friday 9 August 2024. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 23 August 2024.
5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.
6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 29 January 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by the school as they are received, in accordance with the Department of Education's Placement Policy.

Orientation And Transition Program For 2025 Foundation Students

There will be a Foundation Information Evening at 7.00pm on the 14th May, 2024.

We have developed a comprehensive Orientation and Transition program for 2025 Foundation Students and their families. A copy of the program as well as important dates, will be provided to parents during Term 4.
