Speech Pathologist

Hi  families and friends of the CNPS community

I am Certified Practicing Speech and language Pathologist and a Member of Speech Pathology Australia. I am thrilled to have joined the team at Coburg North Primary School, - what a wonderful learning environment your children get to experience.

The Role of a speech pathologist goes beyond ‘just speech’ and I have many years experience supporting families whose children experience learning differences across a range of skills, from eating, behaviour, speech, play, language, learning and communication, to name a few. Most recently, my role was supporting families whose child had a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum and previous roles have been in both mainstream and special developmental settings.

I am passionate about approaching a child as a whole and their ability to function in a given setting, rather than trying to ‘fix a problem’ in isolation.  Ideally all those involved in the care and education of a child who experiences challenges in their life will be included in finding positive solutions. Sometimes my role will be to provide direct therapy, at other times to provide advice or suggestions and occasionally to refer on to other services, but you can always ask a question! So, I look forward to being part of the team which can create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students at CNPS.

I am available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. You are welcome to contact me by email, from the beginning of Term 1, 2018, in the meantime, Happy Holidays.
