Carnevale Lunch

June’s end-of-term Carnevale lunch was another great success, raising more than $1870 for the school. A huge thanks must go to La Generalissima, Michelle Lorier, who manages to work as a chef, care for two girls and carry much of the load for these lunches which come round all too frequently. Michelle not only plans the menus, but does much of the food preparation and cooking.

The sublime Miinot Gelato, in Pascoe Vale South, also kindly offered their services and equipment to help make the gelato. Thanks also to volunteers who helped with prep and serving: Jackie Hanson, Meredith Dimsey, Liz Pye, Paul Sutton, Jane Holroyd, Tamara Heath, Lyn Beale, Ruzi Duric, Amanda Tabone and Michelle’s mother-in-law. Grazie tante!

August Coffee Morning & Produce Stall

The Parents & Friends coffee mornings continue to be a popular fixture on the third Friday of each month. From this month, the event will alternate between Vagabond Coffee Van and another coffee van, Coburg’s own Red Lane Cafe. The next catch-up will be hosted by Red Lane – who will also donate a portion of profits to the school – on Friday, August 18, from 8.30-10.30am.

And yes, free biscuits will continue to be on offer. Thanks to Paul Sutton and Ruiz Duric for their baking efforts at the July catch-up.

At this months coffee morning, there will be an opportunity to purchase homegrown produce for a cash donation. For those of you with flourishing gardens, we would love donations of produce including fruit, vegetables, herbs, eggs, seedlings, worm juice, etc to sell at our first mini produce market. Produce donations should be brought directly to the market stall near the coffee van.

So remember your keep cup and some spare change on Friday 18th August.
