Code Club 2017

Now that everyone is back from camp (hope you all had a great time away!) I’d like to let you know about Code Club at CNPS for 2017.

Tim and I are teaming up again and this year we will be running Code Club at a new timeslot of Thursday lunchtime (1:45pm start) in the library.

For anyone that wasn’t involved last year, at Code Club we offer a fun environment where kids can learn to code (yes, they can make their own games!).  We have a range of step-by-step projects using MIT’s fantastic Scratch environment and more advanced ones for Python and Web (html / css). In fact, any software development activity is welcome at CNPS Code Club.

All students are welcome to join Code Club. The only requirement is the ability to read and have an interest in learning about how software is created.

Students don’t need to bring laptops from home.  Grade 5/6 students should bring their school laptop and we will provide laptops for younger kids for the Code Club session.

First Code Club for 2017 will be lunchtime in the library on Thursday 20th April. If your child is interested in coming along, please let me know before the end of Term 1 so we have an idea of numbers. Feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
